Marketing & Communications Assistant (student position advertised at college)
Qualifications
1. Business major, Marketing major preferred.
2. Strong writing and communications skills.
3. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
4. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and meeting the standards of academic progress.
5. Experience in office setting preferred but not required.
6. Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems (PC and mainframe), emphasis on Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Photoshop and Paint.
7. Understand and use social media in a professional manner (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube).
8. High attention to detail and ability to sort and organize data.
9. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution.
10. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both written and oral which transcend diverse audiences.
11. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to students, parents, faculty, staff, and others while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
12. Demonstrated motivational and problem solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the University.
Responsibilities
1. Assist with marketing and communications projects.
2. Maintain the online marketing collateral ordering system and replenishes product as needed.
3. Assist with writing various communications: Davenportal, Student eNews and social media.
4. Assist with organization/maintenance of photo library.
5. Responsible for filing various items including print samples, purchase orders, closed production jobs, etc.
6. Generate reports, memorandums, correspondence, presentation materials, spreadsheets, graphics and other materials using various software programs, especially Microsoft Office.
7. Assist in proofreading documents and print materials.
8. Sort and distribute incoming mail and faxes.
9. Copy and collate documents.
10. File print samples.
11. Assist with special events and functions as needed.
12. May be responsible for greeting visitors, as well as answering and routing incoming calls.
13. Scheduling and confirming appointments.
14. Keep the editorial calendar organized and updated.
15. Manage and update Excel job list.
16. Handling of documents and maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
17. Conducts special projects, research and assignments as needed.
18. Provides GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
19. Demonstrate and promote the University Cultural Values.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.
